Hello! I’m Rei…
I’m a 21 year old student and marine photographer. Originally from New York, USA, I am now based in beautiful Cornwall, UK, where I am pursuing a BA(Hons) in Marine and Natural History Photography.
My journey and love for photography began at a very young age. By age 6, I was playing around with my parents’ flip phone cameras and my love for photography has only grown since. While exploring the world with a camera in hand, I grew up with an extreme love and obsession for animals, which was fueled by the endless visits to our local zoos and aquariums. Through my time volunteering and interning in the education department at those same zoos many years later, I was exposed to the wonderful world of conservation, and specifically youth conservation education. Given these experiences, I can confidently say that photography is my passion and wildlife conservation is my life’s purpose.
Now, as a university student, I am able to step into the real world of photography and conservation. After successfully completing my second year of my studies, I am especially keen in exploring the field of underwater photography and filmmaking. Alongside my studies, I am actively working towards becoming a PADI Divemaster and volunteering as a Wildlife Guide and Photographer on a local wildlife cruise. Each of these roles allow me to expand my experience and knowledge in all things ocean conservation and storytelling.
In my final year of university, I am eager to explore and experiment with underwater filmmaking, with a potential focus on youth conservation education and the wonderful world of nudibranchs. I hold these topics close to my heart, and I look forward to using my work to inspire and educate the next generation of conservationists.
